
Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England) is an English actor. She's best known as Missandei from the HBO television show, the fantasy Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie was raised in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England as the child of a man of Saint Lucian as well as English descent, and her mother who is of Dominican origin. Nathalie claims that her mother was the first person to incite her passion for pursuing a career acting. At the age of 10 she portrayed Young Nala on her first West End production of The Lion King. Sasha Valentine was her first TV role on Hollyoaks The 1995 teen soap opera. The show debuted in the year 2006. Emmanuel was the main Hollyoaks character until 2010. The character she played had tales about prostitution and heroin addiction. Nathalie was the host of BBC Three's Web-sex What's the harm investigation into the internet sexual behavior of the 16-24-year-olds people in the UK. In the autumn of the year in which she was a star, she appeared on the dark comedy Twenty8. Later that year, she was cast as Missandei, Daenerys Targaryen's translator, in HBO's fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011). In Game of Thrones, Emmanuel's character Thrones was upgraded to a regular in 2015. In 2015, she was a part-time actress in the roles of computer hacker Ramsey and Harriet respectively in Furious 7: The Scorch Trials (2015 action film) and Maze Runner - The Scorch Trials (2015 sci-fi film). FHM magazine placed Emmanuel 99th on their list of the 100 Sexiest Woman in 2013. In April 2015, Emmanuel was featured in InStyle magazine as well as GQ.
